Money Issues

So, I am really tight on cash lately. I work twenty to thirty hours a week, making  minimum wage plus tips, but it still doesn't make ends meet. I pay the water bill for my family plus some, I buy groceries and put gas in my parents cars. I now have to pay $320 a month until I pay off one bill. Plus, I am trying to pay for school here at SWIC without any financial aid. My friends don't seem to understand that I can't go out to eat whenever I want, and I can't go shopping all the time. My family has never had much money to spare, we always get by, but sometimes just barely. I should be used to this, but I'm not. My paycheck is already gone, and I just got payed today. It sucks, because I feel like all my hard work is for nothing somedays. I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I just needed this to be a vent session.

  1. Well i hope things gets better financially for you! I really don't have any financial problems, but i do work alot and i know how fast my paycheck goes and it seems like i don't have anything to show for it.I also didn't get any financial aid besides a few scholarships so i know what you mean about the school costs.I mean alot of people say swic is cheap, well its really not! I am a gift buyer so i guess other people have to show for what i worked for! But anyways maybe you should try to get a different job that pays more. I don't know your situation at home, but if you have to pay bills for your family i would find my own place and pay my own cheaper bills.

  2. I would have to agree with Nathan. I would begin to look for your own place that has a cheaper rent where you dont have to pay your home bills. That shouldn't be your responsibility to pay those in my opinion but I don't know your situation either. I would for sure apply for financial aid next semester because it really does help. I know I work about 40-50 hrs a week plus I am a full time student. My boyfriend and I have our own place and have those bills to play plus both vehicles and all the other bills that surround us. Gas is another necessity that kills us, but with financial aid I got a lot back which I put away to help pay for my gas for the rest of the semester. I will also get this amount back for spring semester. Filing for financial aid and continueing to work will probably be your best bet in this situation. Wish you the best of luck!

  3. Yeah I know what you mean I work over 40 hours a week and it's still not enough money after its all said and done. I pay about two hundred and fifty dollars to thee bank for loans and the rest is for whatver I want to spend it on, but it is never enough. Your problems sound a lot worse than mine so I don't really know what it's like to have to pay for all of my families bills and their gas but I do know how hard things can get money wise and I think you should definately think about getting your own place so you can have some what of freedom and not pay everyone elses bills.

  4. I don't have to pay all the bills, just a couple, basically like paying rent. It isn't much, but when I can only get 20ish hours every week at work, it seems like so much more.

  5. I understand about money issues. I have had to pay my parents bills before and it sucks. I currently don't have a job and that makes it even harder to pay for things. Its ok to vent every now and again. I do... my boyfriend wishes that I wouldn't but its necessary to let out your emotions.
